In February 2021, my husband and I partnered with friends to buy a Frozen Yogurt store in Minooka, IL and since then, it’s given me a chance to expand my product photography. We absolutely love ice cream and any variation of it, so this new business venture has been a great little passion project.
At Fill-A-Cup, we serve ten different flavors of frozen yogurt, 50+ toppings, over 20 flavors of Bubble Tea and Fruit Tea, 8 flavors of hand-packed ice cream, AND smoothies and milkshakes. All the variety has given me plenty of to take product photography images.
My goal has been to update images of our products on a quarterly basis since we are constantly changing flavors, adding toppings, and trying new products. Product photography images are used in our marketing on social media, paid online and print advertisements, flyers, coupons, and so much more.
Since I also create most of the marketing for Fill-A-Cup, I’m at an advantage to know what type of images will look best for the various uses. This is why it’s so important for me to have an in-depth consult with my clients before any type of session. When I know how you will use your product photography or brand photography images, it helps me know how I need to shoot, lighting to use, posing, etc.
I’m also going to share my best “not-so-secret” tip… Canva! Canva.com is a great tool to create so many marketing pieces. They have so many templates, premade designs, graphics for every social media platform and for any type of print marketing. Plus, so much more! I use it so much for anything I’m creating. They have a free version and a reasonably priced paid version. If you want to make your design life easier, Canva is definitely the way to go.
